Choice Of Direction

Always make a choice of direction
For life begins at a excoriating intersection
Of the weak and the fittest
So, pick your drums and play your best
For there is no second try waiting ahead in this crass contest.

Sensible thoughts rather than Flummoxed! :P
I like it. It's all about choices, I believe. And doing your best, what with people being under the scanner for everything they do! But I'm a believer in doing our best for ourselves and not to compete. Different choice, I guess ;)
Short, sweet and sensible. :)
(my comment's longer than the post!)

And I think your comment is way better and amazing Ashna! Loved it to the core. Truth is dripping out! ;)
Choice is all I have or rather want to have. If I have the choice and if I choose for myself with all my heart, I'm bound to shape it in something beautiful which at least will be loved by me since it was my choice. Right?

Thank you so much for commenting, your comments always make me happy. :)

Thank you Ashna. And all the same to you. Bless and Bliss. :D

Choice of Direction. Ok, even if you choose one direction, but there is no way of knowing that which one is the correct choice, especially when you can't see past that bend in the road.

So perhaps, the trick is to just trust yourself and follow it. And Enjoy the adventures which it brings. :)

P.S - I read your 'Her Eyes' Poem. Good one dost!! :)

In complete approval I agree that we can never know what path or direction leads to satisfaction and which is the correct one. But what I meant here(my perception) is that we have to make a choice of direction; choice of path where we presently want to walk upon and achieve our aims. At some difficult points in our lives we have to make this elusive choice which somehow defines our future. And at that choice of path we need to believe in ourselves and make the path brighter and lighter to walk upon by playing our drums to the best beat.

But, in the end of the post I myself am flummoxed right in my mind fighting with the commotion between present, future and practicality. Your comment did bring light and answer to my thoughts. :)
And thank you so much Kunal for reading that impromptu peom. I'm glad you liked it. There's a lot to learn from you. :)

I wish I know that I am making the best choice while I am making it. Kinda difficult...Also, we learn with mistakes...

Lovely piece of writing and thanks for the words of wisdom!

@Prachee: Thank you so much! I am so glad that you read it. :)

@Saru: If you knew which choice is best for you then maybe that choice would turn out to be the worst in the end. That's how Life is. A complex painful flipping cycle. Right?

Lovely comment as always. Thank you so much for appreciating my garbage thoughts! ;)

Saru Singhal said...

Don't say garbage thoughts, you are polluting the word "writer" by saying so. We are always searching for thoughts which we can dig as per our own understanding...

Rachit said...

Well said Saru. I wish to broaden my thoughts and understanding with every word. And you're such an inspiration. :)

We never know, whether the direction we took will lead us to the destination we embarked towards. But it is only us,'you' and 'me', who will know if the choice of direction is worth its light or not.

“Two roads diverged in a wood,
And I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference”
(I dont own these lines above)

So, what I want to tell is that ,

If we want to achieve something special, want to be different from others, want to make your own signature in your field, then try to choose the less traveled path. We may face new things, new challenges, but at the end, there will be our destiny. ..the thing we always wished for.. So, never be afraid of choosing a path that is different from others…That may make a difference.. a better one..

That's so so true Sikha! I so believe in each word you said above. The road less traveled by surely brings peace and satisfaction in the end which is up-above anything can give you. :)
